Pastor LeRoy Jones is the Assistant Pastor at the Greater Saint Matthew
Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA, under the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. Steven Avinger, Sr.
Prior to his appointment as Assistant Pastor, he has held various positions within this
congregation such as Pastor of Leadership Development, Pastor of Family Ministries, and Youth
Pastor.
Pastor Jones has been preaching for ten years, having been licensed to preach
in 1997 by the Rev. Enoch Butler at the Christ Fellowship Church in Herndon, VA, and
subsequently ordained by Pastor Avinger in 1998. Before being called to the Gospel Ministry,
Pastor Jones served as a deacon and a lay-leader supporting various ministries over the years.
The focus of his miistry is to bring clarity and relevancee of God's Word to everyday life and
everyday people.
Pastor Jones is very happily married to his lovely wife of almost 15 years,
Kimberly, and has two cherished children from that union, Tzion and Lia. If there is anything
worthwhile to say about Pastor Jones, let it be that "there is no good thing in him, save
Christ the Lord."
